- General DiscussionsHi forum, and hello Tom. Can anybody please recommend their best strategy, drills, lessons for STOPPING THE CHOP? I alternate between taking great fluid dynamic swings, and chopping at the ball, hitting at it. The disparity between my good chats and bad shots is enormous. Any replies would be greatly appreciated, thanks!Like
- Driver HelpI've been struggling a bit lately, especially with driver. My stock shot with every other club, even fairway woods, is a baby draw, and I used to be able to do it with driver too. But lately, I've been fighting with the driver. If I try to force the draw by holding the flying wedge longer, or by slight bowing the left wrist, I can draw it, but often times, too much. When I just take my normal swing and just think about having less active hands like I do with all the other clubs, my driver tends to fall to the right. Not a slice, more of a push fade. And I could live with that, it's just hard to aim visually when I so used to drawing every shot. Maybe it's due to the tee being higher or the ball position a little farther forward on the grid? Maybe I should just embrace it and play the fade only with the big dog? Thoughts?Like
- Backswing HelpA big question in my swing is how far below the shoulder line can the lead arm rest at the top of the backswing. All good S and T players bring the club to the shoulder line or above but I tend to slice or top the ball here. I feel more power and control when the arm is set lower (deeper), about across my upper chest. I'm short (5'4")-so can I get away with this? A lower swing promotes and in to out path, guaranteeing a draw which naturally adds some distance.Like
