When I set up to the ball in address. The ball feels very forward and I feel like my right shoulder is having to turn to get the club at address. Using the alignment stick and keeping the ball a club head inside the stick with shaft on inside of my left thigh. I’m 6’5 and use 1” long irons. Is this feeling right? Thanks

@bigleechild - I agree with @Nocona Colt Abernathy that your arms should hang naturally and you should not feel as though you are reaching to address the ball.
If your issue relates more to the ball position being too far forward in your stance, know that you have some leeway with ball position. I tend to like the simplicity of keeping it consistent relative to the inside of the lead heel and adjusting the stance width depending on the length of the club. Alternatively, the Stack & Tilt book prescribes a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and incrementally more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (again, with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). Regardless of ball position, your hands should always be even with the inside of your lead thigh in the stock setup as this will give you the appropriate amount of forward shaft lean and also preset a proper backswing path. It's very important to use alignment sticks when monitoring ball position - one on the foot line, a second one parallel to the first to mark the target line, and a third perpendicular to these to show ball position. Make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape.
