In the S&T book and from other videos and lessons I’ve had (Phil Bonfanti) on clubface at address, it is recommended that to hit push draws the face should be slightly open. Do you at address have the face slightly open or square? I try and keep it square as leaving slightly open just looks a bit weird to my eye and my brain does something stupid and I fade/slice the ball, probably due to a change in path?
My miss is a pull / hook / pull hook (!) so I feel like I probably should start the clubface open as I may be manipulating the clubface shut in swing as I do have a natural strong grip….so if start open it may actually return square, although as mentioned it doesn’t result in consistent ball flight (push draw) and I slice it when i start open at address
id be interested to hear how other Saguto golfers start their clubface and what they’ve done ti help create consistent flight as a result of clubface at address
Thank you for any replies

@llydisommma1 - @Rudi (from Munich) is correct. You would do well to go through the Shot Shaping Grid course.
In answer to your question about the clubface... Take your grip with the clubface square to the target at the zero-point (where the lead arm is hanging straight down from the lead shoulder). Stock setup hand position for every club is even with the inside of the lead thigh. The face will then naturally open more as ball position migrates further back in the stance, and vice versa as ball position moves forward. Remember - clubface relative to target line at impact determines the starting direction, and clubface relative to path determines curvature. So to hit a push-draw the face must be slightly open to the target line at impact.
