Tom’s long iron set up video says the ball and lead hip should be slightly forward (1.5 inches) vs short iron setup. Should the hand position for long irons still remain even with the inside of the lead thigh?
@ejamesschiffer - We bump the lead hip forward at setup (while keeping the upper torso in place) an inch or so for the short/mid irons in order to preset our weight forward 55%. With the longer clubs we bump them just slightly more to increase that to 60%. Hand position remains the same - even with the inside of the lead thigh. In general the ball position for the long irons is a couple of inches inside the lead heel. You have some +/- leeway with that - just let your ball striking and shot shape be your guide.
