I want to confirm that my club face is in the correct position at setup. I think I remember seeing something in one of the videos about this. What I remember is that when you push your hands forward the club face opens slightly. And there is a reason to do this. Is this correct? And can you direct me to the video that illustrates this? And what is the reason to do it? Thanks, Mike

@galloway8625 & @fish4197 - Stock hand position is even with the inside of the lead thigh. From there, if you played the ball even with your lead shoulder the clubface would be perpendicular to the target line. As you adjust the ball position further back in the stance - while keeping the hands in stock position - the clubface will naturally open to incrementally increasing degrees. A face that is open to the target line and closed to the proper in-to-out downswing path will produce a push-draw flight.
While this may be considered a more advance level course, it's never too early to obtain a basic understanding of ball flight laws and the Shot Shaping Grid.
I was/am having the same issue. Parked lesson 2.8. I was hitting the ball to the right and also notices as I move my hand forward the club faced opened. Not beng sure what position of my hands were correct??. I thought I read or something Tom said about having the club face slightly open to produce a draw. I to would like some clarification on this. Although I mad3 some adjustments and j7st this morning I am around 9 out of 10, indoors using form balls hitting into net. My adjustments, and please take with a grain of salt because I am still a work in progress. 1. Be mindfull of not moving my hands to far forward. 2. Ball position, make sure ball is just slightly forward of center (shirt button) 3. Distance to ball with posture. 4 weight 55/45 left. 5. Using the alignment stinks and making sure m6 hand don't come to much in side. Please let me know what you all think. Being mindfull of just those 5 thinks and trying not to rush my swing , I dropped 7 strokes of my league 9 hole round this week from last week. 5hx again.
