Been working hard on the wedge drill recently with increasing success, but this video by Tom a few days ago really clicked with me for some reason (maybe I am now ready to absorb it).
I am really focusing on the big muscles/torso starting and driving the backswing and downswing and just keeping the arms glued to my pecs and straight.
In order to keep the arms straight and finish with them straight on downswing I have to swing in to out.
This has stopped me from a chronic problem early hip turn which stopped weight staying forward and shifting more forward. My hips are moving laterally first and longer now, and then turning.
A similar drill to the wedge drill is the Rob Cheney hit hard stop quick drill and it works the same fundamentals.
Anyway- I have never hit the ball this well in my life and I am able to even start correcting my bad swings quicker. Will keep at it.
That's awesome, @Mojoman!! Yes - certain lessons will finally click when we are ready for them. Obviously through all your work you had gotten yourself to the point where this one was able to connect the dots for you, and based on your description you've done a fabulous job of incorporating it into your swing.
I'm thrilled to learn of your dramatic improvements in understanding and executing the system. Thanks for the update, keep up the great work, and........
