Here is a KFC Club video I did on the shanks. Also, please do a search for the word "shank" in the forum you will see some other discussion threads on this topic. If these don't help you to resolve the issue then please tag me in a comment and we'll try to dig a bit deeper into the specifics.
@Tom Saguto hi Tom, so I went back to the Range again today and felt more of the swing around rather than lift and that seems to help but now got a huge hook so maybe coming inside too much?
also I stumbled across the video with the pga pro Paige I think and how you were working on the tilt. I’m not sure I’m tilting enough but my shoulder does get down. almost to the point it points between my feet and the ball. Is that too steep and would that cause the dreaded “s” shot?
@Ritchie Morrison With regard to the backswing tilt, if the shoulder line is pointing to a spot inside the ball, that may be a bit too steep. At the ball or slightly outside of it is what we're trying for, and the key is to maintain that same orientation of the upper torso from address to the top of the backswing through the proper combination of tilting, turning, and extending.
I strongly recommend taking video of your swing, drawing the lines (such as on the V1 app), and actually seeing where you are actually at. It's "feel vs. real", and the camera won't lie!!
