I find that when I'm playing my old swing thoughts intertwine with my new swing. When I have a poor shot, with weight forward, I have lifted my arms, instead of turning. That's when I have to start talking to myself, while I'm playing.

Definitely a normal part of the process, @Thomas Linehan. Eventually you'll beat down those old demons sufficiently to the point that you're primarily playing golf and not "golf swing". It takes time, but it does happen through dedication and properly applied effort.
