I have a question about the takeaway. As I video may swing and mark the shaft plane I note as I start the backswing and try to pull my left arm across the chest this seems to pull the club to the inside of the plane line rather then going up the shaft plane. What should I be seeing on video as I take the club back in relation to shaft plane line. As I come down I do seem to be bette on the plane line.

That's great, @rickwepsic. I'm glad 3.2 resonated well with you.
Thanks for letting me know!

Hi Rick,
First, let's make sure that you are not actively rolling or snatching the club inside with your hands.
Next, I recommend reviewing Chapter 3 of the Golf Swing Simplified course, starting with making sure you've got your upper arm connections intact. If your upper trail arm loses its attachment to the side of the chest and either disconnects or slides back, the club can get under that plane pretty easily. Beyond that, Lessons 3.1, 3.2, and 3.6 are specific to training the arm motion in the backswing, with 3.6 including a drill to help you see and feel where the lead arm needs to be so that the club is going up the correct plane.
Finally, ensure that your lead shoulder maintains its orientation towards the ball as it turn back (3.3a & b), because if it flattens out the left arm and club will follow.
Please keep me posted.
Tom
