Hey Tom,
I've been a member since May and have really shown improvement. I've never shot in the 70s and last week I almost got there (shot an 80). I have filmed myself often and I am still coming over the top a little on my downswing. I've used your drills (in fact 2 weeks ago I broke my 9 iron on an alignment stick) but I just can't seem to "get over the hump". When I watch myself I've noticed I don't really tilt as much as I could. Do you think more tilt could potentially help my over the top issue? Thanks again for all you do and please, please , please keep up the good work.
Bill J.
Hey Bill. Something that has helped me is feeling like the knuckles of my lead hand are point to the ground when i start down. Also with the weight pre set forward try feeling like your arms beat your body to the ball along with the knuckles down.
Oh sure, Bill - butter me up with that really nice message and then put me to work....🤣
Sounds like you've been through the Fixing Common Swing Problems lesson and drill content on the steep downswing, but if not you'll find it starting here. (Sorry about your 9 iron, by the way.)
Have you considered posting a couple of videos of your swing (face-on and down-the-line) in the Forum's Video Analysis Room? You may be pleasantly surprised with the knowledge and analysis skills of many of your fellow members. Alternatively, it may be a good time for a V1 Analysis so I can put my eyes on your swing and give you some specific drills to get you over this hump.
By the way, if I recall our initial email correspondences you have made some tremendous progress with your game. Keep up the great work!!
Tom
