@donal.keys - As @nkorfhage suggests in his response, your low point is likely shifting back at some point during the swing motion. Have a look at this video and also the drills referenced in it (which can be found in the Get Out and Go Play program).
If you are taking a divot behind the ball, then the low point of your swing is behind the ball. What may be causing that is, at some point during the swing, your head is moving back, thus changing the low point of your swing. Make sure to keep your weight forward 55% front 45% trail to move the low point of your swing forward to take a divot in front of the ball. Also, make sure the ball is about two to two and a half ball widths inside your lead heel when you set up.
I would also highly suggest filming your swing to see if you are moving your head back or forward in the golf swing. I hope this helps.
