I am struggling with hitting too close to the hosel and sometimes hitting the hosel. What are the common causes of this? I think my hands are too close to my body on my iron setups and I might be going too inside on my backswing. Dan
Wow! I just watched the V1 video lesson you sent to me. Great analysis and a lot of great feedback. Can’t wait to get to the range and work on it. Thank you.
And now you understand why the V1 is a great supplemental tool for the school, and also why highly recommend scheduling one on a quarterly basis to keep things moving nicely in the right direction, and as needed for pinpointing and resolving any issues that may arise.
@haagd - I completely agree with @Nocona Colt Abernathy, but let's first be certain that it's not the result of a basic setup deficiency before getting into any swing intervention. Please have a look at the excerpts below from the S&T book and compare to your setup position. If you check all the boxes then a swing video analysis either here with your fellow members or with me through V1 is the best suggestion.

@haagd - A common cause of heel and hosel strikes is a downswing path too far out to the right.
However, it's hard to tell without seeing your swing. I would suggest doing a V1 analysis with Tom or posting in the video analysis room on the forum.
