I'm on Android, so don't think I'd be much help. The apps appear very different between platforms.
Are you on Apple or Android?
I did videos of myself on V1 and cant find them Ive made contact with with V1 to see whats going on
Sounds good. Let's get you figured out and put an end to this madness, @Bill Mo!!
Also, an excellent book that I regularly recommend here is "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante. I think you may benefit well from it.
Looking forward to the V1!
I agree Tom I have so many thoughts in my head I don't what I'm doing wrong . I'll try to down load it tonight .after my league' I have looked at the get out and play love. I try too much stuff and can't figure out why I top it hit it fat next time.
@Bill Mo - I really think it's time for a V1 Analysis to get you on the right track. @Peta might be able to share a student's perspective in this regard. (By the way, Peta - thank you for your excellent and detailed response. I'm very pleased to learn of your progress as well!)
In addition to the V1, Bill, you might want to have a look at the newly added Get Out and Play quick start guide. Several "seasoned" members have commented that they've picked up some very helpful information from this program.
Hi Bill, I know exactly what you are going through. I have a handicap of 39 and after starting S@T I knew it was right. Did it mean that I hit my shots crispy clean, no it did not, but when I did, it was effortless. I started the course last December. I have had a couple of good games but most of the time it is not good. But I still believed. However about a month ago I went out for a practice round and recorded my score. I had 43 stableford points and when I worked out my strokes and taking in account my handicap I came in at 6 under par. So I thought, right Ive got this. Not that I expected to play to that level but I was now well on the way. Since then I have played really badly, albeit with a couple of really good shots.
Talk about frustrating. The other day I had to play in a handicap 4BBB match play and I can say that I well and truly played well. It started to feel effortless and a lot of my swing thoughts left my head. I stopped trying so hard and accepted that my swing was going to feel (not real) about a 1/4 of the length that it used to. I hit a club on two par 3's that I would normally not even make the green and twice I hit it over the green and unfortunately one of them was out of bounds. The last hole on our course is one of the abovementioned par 3's and normally I hook it into the water on the left. Instead I hit this beautiful crispy shot that hit the green and rolled and ended up about 5 feet past the green. Luckily the pin was near the back and although I chunked my chip on I putted for two and won the hole thereby putting us one up and we won gthe game.
Because I played so well what I discovered was that at the end of the game I was not mentally tired. I must admit that in the middle around the 12, 13, 14th holes I started to judge myself and wonder if I could hit the ball. That was a difficult time to go through. When I told my playing partners how I felt they said "well we certainly didnt notice anything.". My favourite comment was "What have we got to do to beat her?"
Dont give up. My shots arent perfect and they are not as crispy as I would like them to be but they are invariably straighter and they are getting longer. The swings of ghost past is probably your biggest handicap. Mine is coming over the top. I found the lessons that worked on this and gave myself a few swing thoughts. It took me a long time to break the habit but what I thought was important was even though I came over the top I was very aware of it. With just about every shot I knew what was wrong. I never had this sense before. Although I didnt like it, knowing what I was doing wrong made it so much easier to work on drills that helped me correct it.
Sorry for the waffle but hope it helps you stay with the program. Good luck
