I’ve noticed on my downswing it seems like no matter what I do the distance between my club handle and my body is really short. I also noticed my hips are really quite. If I engage my hips more at the start, will that create more distance between me and my club?

@Buford T Ogletree - The entire golf swing would be so easy if we could "just put it there" in the proper places throughout the motion. In fact, one of my PGM golf instructors at college told me exactly that during a lesson! Unfortunately, oftentimes our brain doesn't quite allow that to happen.
Anyway, keep up the great work!
I wouldn’t get too preoccupied with the straight arm. It needs to be straight through impact, but not too important anywhere else. Sounds like you are making great progress congrats.
Also Tom has me working on the position of my lead arm at the setup. My hands are to far forward as opposed to more inside my thigh. I don’t know why but this is more difficult to remedy than I thought but I’m working on it. You’d think that would be easy (just put it there) but it feels so weird just moving it back a few inches.
@Buford T Ogletree any update? From your original post, which angle were you using for the observation?
@Buford T Ogletree - Piggybacking on @Nocona Colt Abernathy's reply, it's a guessing game without actually seeing your swing. If you can, post videos of your swing from both angles in the Video Analysis Room. Or we can do a V1 if you prefer.
What's your impact quality and ball flight telling you?
@Buford T Ogletree - If you're talking about the t-rex arms, that could make it worse. Without seeing your swing, it sounds like your issue you're losing your lag too early in the downswing. Not really an issue with the hips.
