I’m getting a little lost with the trail arm and it’s role. I don’t know if during downswing if I’m physically trying to perform the “skip a rock“ throw or ”punching” the ball as Tom describes
And by physically I mean where I can actually feel myself doing any of those 2 motions. a somewhat similar feeling in your arm when you arm wrestle someone (Obviously not that intense)...That activated muscle in your shoulder/arm pit area. Rotator cuff I believe lol
@jon - First of all, have you watched Lessons 5.1a and 5.1b on the role of the trail forearm in the backswing? These are very important for setting the trail arm to be used properly in the downswing.
As for the downswing, the Load & Explode Chipping Drill from Part III of the Simplest Golf Swing Ever class offers a good starting point. (In fact that entire chapter may be helpful.) Also, these three videos from the YT channel may offer some additional insight:

I'd prefer you eliminate any thoughts of activating the trail shoulder/rotator cuff as that could cause your swing to come crashing down...literally and figuratively...😖
Hope this helps!
Tom
