Been working on left hand to left knee drill, and it has transformed my concept of the downswing. It definitely feels like it sorts out 3 or 4 motions in 1 swing thought.
1st time ever looking like I get shaft lean at impact. Just need to get weight further through the wall now. Onwards and upwards.
I do my best to convey different "feels" or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible because we're all unique physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with he or she or me may not necessarily work for thee. Furthermore, a feel or thought that performs well for you this week may run its course or get overdone and not play out so nicely next week, so it's good to have alternates to call upon if needed. The key takeaway here is that no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the same desired result - body-friendly, crispy, compressed ball striking bliss. (It's like a multiple choice test with no wrong answer....😎)
@1759adam videos that are, i think, relaying the same fundamental in the downswing. I found both good and accomplish the same thing. Yes @Tom Saguto ??
1) drill #8 https://saguto.golf/courses/1436366/lectures/33006446
2) YT video about 'swing the handle, not the clubhead'.
Love both of them. Try them out and see which one 'feels' easier
@Tom Saguto is it key to keep the club head 'behind' your hands on this drill. When your hands get to your left leg should we concentrate on the club head being behind your hands?
Thanks a million Gerry. Much appreciated.
This is so different from my existing downswing - and helps explain my chicken winging. Feels really weird - I almost panic with the feeling that I will miss the ball completely. When I get this working reasonably well I should be ready to do a V1 with Tom.
@norman morrow ... i think this may be it.. This intro then the next two Drill #8 in the list. https://saguto.golf/courses/1436366/lectures/33006445
