Lost with driver. Literally. All other clubs, crispy kfc. Divot just in front of ball. Three wood 220 straight off the deck. Driver? Literally, not joking can't hit it. Grounders, pop ups. Fat shots, can't figure it out the club is so darn long and light . Anyone else have this problem? Thinking of just leaving it at home

@timmos1 I had similar issue last year. Make sure you have good arm extension all the way through. I changed to 12 degree loft and for me that helped. Focus on keeping head quiet and not shifting weight backward. Use 75% power until comfortable. Final thought is ball placement. Too far forward or backward is a problem but experiment on range. Don’t give up. I thought I was incapable last fall but adopting the stack and tilt and range practice has me hitting drives I never imagined with the still occasional hit that misses fairway. Encouraging you to try 12 degree loft. I have a Ping driver but try whatever is available. Good luck.
@timmos1 - I agree with what @Nocona Colt Abernathy said in his reply. Also, please check out this recent post from @Jerry Z and see if it might help you with the driver.

@timmos1 I don't think you're alone on this one 😂! This problem plagues many S&T golfers. I'll go with the most obvious answer first. Since you can hit all your other clubs, I'll assume you have the correct swing. First things first, make SURE you are swinging the driver the SAME way as your other clubs. For some reason, we all get the "grip it and rip it" mentality with the driver. Make SURE you are not hitting down too much with the driver, this puts extra spin on the ball so your mishits literally are worse. The normal prescription to prevent this is move the ball position to under your left shoulder (watch the grid video) and preset the hips forward slightly. Again, don't change your swing. TRY THIS FIRST!!!
The second answer is around your actual driver. Is it fitted for you? The club has got to feel right in your hands, and the two biggest things are grip size and swing weight (flex is not as important for pure strikes, in my opinion, it affects launch and curvature of the ball). I always recommend having the same grip on driver as all your other clubs. Also, take your 7 iron to your fitter and check the swing weight and see how it compares to driver. I think they should be relatively close since the swing is the same. Again, this will not correct a swing fault.
Hope this helps!
