Well, I have probably reached the point where I am at the end of my physical capabilities. Meaning, I am not suddenly going to gain 10mph club head speed my practicing. I am not significantly going to improve my short game or my putting. how do I break through the next level?
This year after making the change to snt, my handicap went up and now has come crashing back down. 3 weeks ago, I was an 8-9, after posting my score yesterday, I am down to a 4.
In addition to swing changes, I am embracing technology as the path to improvement.
I got fitted for a putter. Wish I had done this years ago. A proper putter fitting means the ball doesn’t have side spin when struck in center of face.
I exchanged my fairway woods for a hybrid driver. This was a stretch but has worked beautifully. I will do a review of these clubs later. I bought 12, 15, 21 Tetón hybrids. Love them. Par 5’s are all reachable now and when a hole is under 400 yards I can reliably use these clubs off the tee.
I bought a loft/lie bending machine and have adjusted lofts on irons to dial in ideal launch angle, spin rate, and descent angle. Still have more work to do to make sure the lie angles are exact.
Overall, I have never hit the ball better. Now I am using technology to help achieve goal for the year to be able to play to a 3 handicap.
This is something everyone can do and it’s far cheaper than buying the newest driver or irons…which have marginal returns.
With properly fitted equipment, you can turn your focus to playing golf and making the snt methodology a game changer.
@Russell Hogue, PhD - Do the differences in yardages between those two rounds reflect differences in ball striking, or was this more a factor of the wind and the tracks played?
