One of the things I think I need in the practice bag of tricks is figuring out how far I am actually hitting each club to understand what club I should use in one way or another. I really need something that does not break the bank but is reliable.
Looking at the swing caddie but have no clue.
For around $2k you can get into a SkyTrak or Mevo+. I had a skytrak and it serviced me well. Do your homework and compare what data points are being collected.
I moved up to a Bushnell Launch Pro ($3500) and absolutely love it. captures better club data and ball data than that of the SkyTrak.
Mevo+ is radar based so you'll need more room length wise in order capture the ball flight.
There's lots to think about. My theory is if you can afford a BLP/GC3 go with that...because eventually you will ;)
I've also read good feedback from the Garmin R10.
Going to use indoors of outdoors?
Because I have noticed significant differences off mats and grass.
I know I will be adding the Mevo to arsenal after this season for the "garange" so I can play virtual courses over the off season. But will be great to be able to take to the outdoor range as well.
I just put it off because I decided to invest more to other golf necessities (at least what I deemed as necessities). But that is the next item for my Golf Journey.
My 2 cents
I have the rapsodo mobile launch monitor…I like it a lot
@Tom Holt - I used a Swing Caddie prior to stepping up to the Flight Scope Mevo+ and was pleased with its performance in terms of providing the basic numbers that you are seeking.
We haven't heard from @Russell Hogue, PhD in a bit, but if he is available then perhaps he might have other suggestions as our resident "Gadget Guru".
