Well only 9 today in league play as it was 42 and light rain at tee off at 9:40am. Steady drizzle of at times light rain, by time we were down to final 3 holes I could see my breath. Temp. showed 42 and said feels like 36, no argument here. We toughed it out and enough members showed to ,be official, rained stopped but temp pretty much the same for rest of league looked like.
Even with the conditions, made sure with rain gloves and cold hands for sure, stuck to swing keys and focus.
So good news is this 19 handicapper shot a 43 counting a penalty for lost ball. Took 14 putts and just missed a 35 ft. birdie putt on last hole a par 5. Still gauging utility wedge as it definitely has beefed up.
Driving more consistent and only pushed one right for lost ball.
Happy with iron play and getting more comfortable with hands forward and aim and consistency definitely moving in right direction.
After taking advice from @Russell Hogue, PhD and @Tom Saguto and watched Paul Runyan chipping video. Practiced before play with different irons for getting ball rolling on green and using putting stroke.
Had 1 opportunity to give it a try, Par 3 just about 3 feet off to right of green. Brought a 7 & 8 iron and decided on 8 iron. Lined it up and weight forward descending putting stroke, stoke 6 inches to right of hole , tapped in for par. Needless to say this will be the way I will be chipping from now on when close enough for chips.
@Tom Saguto Have to say just 40% through course bundle, am watching other video's you post. But for sure am keeping it progressing and not looking to rush through and build a good foundation with this new swing and be patient and let it grow and build layer upon layer.
Already have gotten a big return on investment.
Thanks fellow forum contributors and Thanks @Tom Saguto
Okay funny you said that. I was thinking I was overdue to post one.
Plan on hitting practice facilities this coming Tuesday. I will do both from behind and side right facing.
