I had big plans for the winter. I bought some kickass training aids to really focus on parts of my swing I know I need to improve.
Wanted to work on speed training to pickup speed (bought speedsticks)
I wanted to work on different length back swings to dial in distances throughout the bag (bought a dewiz swing analyzer).
I am proud (not really) to say, I didn't train any of it. I did absolutely nothing all winter. I barely touched my sticks.
I played twice last weekend, shot 80 in one round (2 birdies - 38 front, 42 back). 76 in the next round (5 birdies - 38, 38). Overall, I hit the ball pretty reasonably. Short game touch and putting were not good which is what I would expect. I also hit a few rollers and a couple chunks. Ah well, it's time to start practicing. . .
The real beauty of the saguto method is, even after taking off for a few months, I jumped back on the course and was ok. Unlike pre-saguto golf where the start of every season was a terrible adventure.
I hope is was a good winter of non-golf activity nonetheless, and yes - that low-maintenance feature of this swing system is a wonderful thing!
Happy to see you back at it as the calendar suggests that the season is growing near. In fact, our Myrtle Beach area courses are already packed with golfers from up north looking to get a head start.
