To make sure I make a full turn I have been focusing on getting my lead shoulder under my chin and my back to the target at the top of the backswing.
I find if I keep it there when I start my downswing with a roll of the trail foot that it keeps me from coming over the top and results in great contact.
Thoughts?
I think, if that is working for you, you should use it. It is important to develop a key move during transition that starts the correct kinetic chain of movements that allows you to keep the club on the correct path back to the ball. I believe rolling the trail foot inward promotes "tailbone to the target" and will prevent the hands from moving out allowing them to come down the correct hand path. As long as the trail elbow stays tucked you should be getting some crispy contact.
