I believe I've said before on another post that I quit playing back around 2004 and at time was shooting in mid 70's with lowest ever round of even par 72. I started back playing around 5 years ago & with my old swing I struggled to break 90. As soon as I started working on Tom's lessons around May of this year from youtube and here. I quickly was shooting in the 80's occasionally shooting 79.
Yesterday a friend and I played a round with no range balls to warm up and I shot best round since coming back with a 76 and 5 birdies. I don't think I've ever had 5 birdies in a round at anytime. Front 9 shot 40 with 2 birdies, only 1 fairway & 4 greens. Back 9 hit all fairways and 5 greens resulting in a 3 birdie 36. I hit some really crispy shots. My main miss was a pull or pull draw.
I haven't made it far into the structured lessons here & also don't have a lot of time to practice. I know I'm probably not doing it exactly like Tom teaches but my ball striking had gotten so much better. I can't wait to be able to practice these lessons more and see how low I can shoot. Thank you Tom!
Thanks David and Tom! My work has me gone 3 weeks and home 3 weeks and I don't have access to clubs during the time I'm at work. When I'm home it's hard to find time to play/practice. I plan on getting a net and mat at sometime so I can practice at house when I have some free time. Tom, I definitely want to do that video lesson, I will have to look into sometime.
@Hatten Great job! Welcome back to Golf! Sounds like you are on the right track for sure! Keep it crispy and have fun!! 😊
@Hatten - That's awesome - congrats on an excellent round!!!
I'm very glad to learn of your improvements since coming onboard. Since you don't have much time to practice at present time, perhaps you might be interested in a V1 Swing Video Analysis Lesson? This would enable me to put my eyes on your swing and offer some very specific observations along with corrective action plans and drills if applicable. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site.
In the meantime, enjoy a SagutoGolf Virtual Golden Ball Award in honor of your great round!!
