I believe I've said before on another post that I quit playing back around 2004 and at time was shooting in mid 70's with lowest ever round of even par 72. I started back playing around 5 years ago & with my old swing I struggled to break 90. As soon as I started working on Tom's lessons around May of this year from youtube and here. I quickly was shooting in the 80's occasionally shooting 79.
Yesterday a friend and I played a round with no range balls to warm up and I shot best round since coming back with a 76 and 5 birdies. I don't think I've ever had 5 birdies in a round at anytime. Front 9 shot 40 with 2 birdies, only 1 fairway & 4 greens. Back 9 hit all fairways and 5 greens resulting in a 3 birdie 36. I hit some really crispy shots. My main miss was a pull or pull draw.
I haven't made it far into the structured lessons here & also don't have a lot of time to practice. I know I'm probably not doing it exactly like Tom teaches but my ball striking had gotten so much better. I can't wait to be able to practice these lessons more and see how low I can shoot. Thank you Tom!
Thanks David and Tom! My work has me gone 3 weeks and home 3 weeks and I don't have access to clubs during the time I'm at work. When I'm home it's hard to find time to play/practice. I plan on getting a net and mat at sometime so I can practice at house when I have some free time. Tom, I definitely want to do that video lesson, I will have to look into sometime.
