Well it is official, Thursdays round is canceled due to impending Tropical weather. So it looks like we will be able to get tomorrow round in. As much as I was willing to pass on it, as long as it is not a tourenchal downpour in the morning I will give a try. Because it is Oyster Bay a course I played before in 94'. And would like to pick up poker chip for my brother.
Got out of the funk today somewhat, even though had 4 doubles & triple, mostly from blankingout on some short putts. Balllstriking much improved. Settled down and finished with a 94 on The Sea Trail Reese Jones course. Although the course was in pretty bad shape for a NC course. Had water issues so was pretty burnt in the fairway and greens were less than up to par. That being said did sink a 40 foot birdie and on last hole dropped a breaking 20 footer to save par.
Lost 2 sometimes 3 clublenghts in distance in the lower altitude and humidity. But finally got it in my head and hit the right clubs.
Here till Saturday in any event having a heck of a time, awesome golf buddies!
Blessings
We are going to get a rain check for the fourth round. If the storm travel fast courses may be playable Friday so you could use the rain check that day.
I did not have a good putting day today. Shot 85 with no birdies. Played the Barefoot Resort Dye course. No level lies in the fairways, no straight putts on the greens. Mounds around the greens made chipping a challenge. Only hope is that everyone in the flight had a rough time with the greens. Otherwise I probably shot myself out of the competition.
