Went back through Tom's videos, working on straight left arm, keeping right arm tight and 1/2 swing. Once you do it a few times, I eliminated swing thoughts. My ONLY thought was relaaaax. Most of my approach shots were coming up short. So I decided to club down, play the ball a tad back of center
and PUNCH, keeping the hinge. WOW, KFC, guys! I got my ego out of the way- don't hit what you
THINK you can hit..drop down a club or 2 and punch it KFC! I did that the entire round..stiffing irons to 8-10 feet. Had an EAGLE from 70 yds...punch gap wedge, 1 hop, nothing but net. Ok, I know we all have
success stories --- but Tom is the best. Find what works, practice and make it as SIMPLE as possible. I'm 75 and playing solid golf thanks to Tom's simple recipe. (BTW..shot 74 today..should have been 70 !)
Well done, @Daniel Boggs!!! This is precisely the way I advocate for folks to practice AND play while building their swing. It is essentially the Drill 2.8 Swing, and as proven once again by your fantastic round, it is fully capable of getting us around the course and performing quite well in the process!!
Keep up the great work, and congrats on beating your age!!
