Played bookend golf yesterday. Started out like the old Steven, middle issues and finished like the old. But score still trending way higher than usual(tha's okay). I will get through this, after a lifetime of playing different sports this rears its ugly head sometimes . Just never happened like this in golf to me before. For anyone one old enough to remember Steve Sax in the majors playing 2nd base, went through a funk where he couldn't make a throw to 1st from 2nd for awhile, that's how I feel.
I know it's a lot of in the head! Only thing that might be a lightbulb moment is why I may been having trouble with my woods in the fairway. Realized yesterday after I was doing some post round self evaluation, that I may be staying too low throughout backswing on those clubs and end up topping alot which I never done before. So will check that out next week before round, really think that is an issues as I review.
Have my 1st bracket of regular match play next week during same round as league 9 & 18 hole play. hoping that the head to head play will get me focused more and in the zone with the added 1 on1 competition.
Just like I said never been here in this sport. But know I am better than this stretch I am having, ALA back to back finals wins. So going to persevere and get throught this.
Arccos side note:
Was time for a phone update anyway since I had an older Samsung Galaxy A51. The iphone 7+ didn't work out due to data transfer problems and didn't want to deal with system I wasn't familar with and being a iphone 7 support is going away shortly anyway.
Got a Samsung S23 and still had issues yesterday, but mostly I was the cause, didn't set the backround and permissions right and didn't stsrt the link early enough before the round. Will see what happenes next week.DUH!
Thanks as always for letting me vent and get some therapy here by sharing! Can't wait to meet some of my fellow Saguto members at the MBWA! Hope we get some last minute attendees. @Bazza Clarke you going to make it?
Blessings!
Steven, I am waiting with anticipation to play in the MBWA. If I remember there are going to be 3 of us. Or have others signed up that I am not aware of. Certainly want to hang with you guys for sure.
I've mentioned this previously in the forum, Steven, but an excellent book that may help you with the most destructive body part to our golf swing - the brain - is "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante. Another book that I like is "Play Your Best Golf Now" by Lynn Marriott & Pia Nilsson.
