Anyone ever use this divot board in the pic & the one Tom uses?
The one in the pic only worked well for about 10 sessions and basically sh*t the bed. Was curious if anyone has already tried the one Tom uses and had any feedback on its durability.
Thanks Tom. Totally agree. Just wanted to know about the durability from someone such as yourself who’s used it often. Knowing the pad is replaceable makes it an easy buy.
From Divot Board's site: "The Divot Board has a replaceable top pad. Designed to be able to pull off the old pad and peel and stick a new pad. The durability of the Divot Board pad depends on how hard and how fat it is hit. For adults we see a range of between 1000 and 3000 hits before needing a replacement. Though, we have kids that have been hitting on the Divot Board for over a year with more than 6,000 hits. You will see wear on the pad, but it is working if you can still read the divot. It is time to replace the pad when the plastic discs start to come off."
All I can say is that my practice sessions are benefiting immensely from the Divot Board, as it provides the exact type of impact feedback that hitting mats are incapable of delivering. Think about it, though - we spend so much money on our clubs only to get frustrated with them because we're still using that same dysfunctional swing. For the price of a decent new wedge, this training aid will help you groove your impact and perhaps rekindle your love affair with that old wedge that you were going to toss into your spare bag... 😎
I use the Divot Board. Way cool device. Use it in my office while on useless and inefficient conference calls :) . Nice thing about it is when it wears down you can buy a replacement pad for like $25. Probably got a few 100 shots on it. Granted they were not full swings but the feedback is awesome.
@Gerry_Lager Thanks… thats good to know. I didn’t want to buy it at that price if it was going to be unusable after a couple uses like the first one I bought. Knowing you can replace the mat for pretty cheap is a good selling point.
I looked at the Accu-strike as Toms is out of my price range right now. I went on amazon and found a very inexpensive one (not accu-strike) that will work for now but it isn't as crisp looking as Toms. (harder to see club strike area) I don't think it will hold up as well as Toms either. I hope Tom adds input as to the durability of his.
@Ken Dietrich the funny thing about the AcuStrike was that it didn’t really start to get so much wear on it until I really started getting divots behind the ball mark on it. It’s like it can’t handle to many repetitive strikes in the same place at that angle for too long. Don’t get me wrong, it still kinda works, but it’s not showing the full path anymore. It could also be from me actually hitting balls off of it into my net in the backyard. Maybe the ball compression did it & it wasn’t meant to be used that way. It was nice to hit a ball and see the path while it lasted though. It was good feedback for backyard practice drills.
