I have been patiently, painfully patiently, working on 2.8. I turned a corner today! I went back through chapter 2 and realized I had the weight shift all wrong. Instead of leaning slightly towards the target with my weight on my front side, I was more or less just pushing my hips forward with no weight shift. I was also way over reaching in the backswing. So with the dead arms and with the shoulders initiating the backswing, I was making ball first then divot contact all day long! I haven’t perfected it by any means but it is a huge step for me. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get to this point. This stuff really works, just takes time. I think Tom has mentioned that a couple times😎.

Thanks!
@Tom Saguto if I am understanding it right, 2.8 can be used for all clubs? Referencing the driver. I am pretty consistent with my irons but have not tried this with the driver yet. If I remember right, I should plan to place a little more weight on the front side and ball position should be slightly more forward with the driver? Maybe I should try it for myself first but just wanted to be sure I had the correct mindset!
@colton - LOL! Yeah - I might have said that once or twice...🤣
I want you to really embrace 2.8 - make it your swing for now. Play the course with it for the next several rounds as it is plenty powerful to do so. (It's actually very close to a full swing - it's just a more abbreviated "feel" than what you may have previously been accustomed to.) Take ownership of 2.8 and the rest will come much more naturally for you. And if you ever experience any setbacks or need to reinforce that crispy impact, spend some time with the 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill. The two drills - 2.8 and 90% - integrate very nicely with each other.
Be patient and keep up the fabulous work!!
Tom
