I saw a video the other day about Tiger Wood's Five Rules of Golf. Found it very interesting and it got me thinking so I created my own Rules List on my way to breaking 80. Here is Tiger's list for reference.
1) No sixes on par fives
2) No double-bogeys
3) No bogeys with 9 iron or less
4) No three putts
5) No blown easy up-and-downs
My list is geared toward areas I need to focus on based on my current skill level right now and will likely change as I improve. Right now I am only playing nine hole rounds until my health is better so it's based on that too.
1) Only One Swing Thought - I have made a pretty significant swing change which has three main components. I only allow myself one swing thought during a round to avoid brain clutter
2) No Duff Shots - Right now I make one or two duff shots in a nine hole round and would like to get through a round with none.
3) No High Risk Shots - I need more self control...I take too many risky shots....especially after a bad hole.
4) Know Where to Miss - This one just helps me keep my head in the game and think a bit more before I take a shot.
5) No Missed Putts Under 3 Feet - These were killing me so I have spent a lot of time working on this one.
I took two from Tiger's list as well; No Three Putts and No Double Bogeys. I also am working on a goals list based on a recent post from GolfLivesMatter regarding setting realistic goals which I thought was excellent.
Cheers,
AE
@alan_edwards do one goal at a time. Be in the Think Box before the strike and then in the Play Box with NO thoughts.
