This week was the real kick-off for my golf season. I played 3 days in a row in real conditions (not midwest sub 50's).
Playing 3 courses I didn't know, shot 81, 79, 76.
But the last round I had the driver working, which is always the key for my scoring. First would I had some putter issues adjusting to way less obvious slope and big grain influence on putting.
I feel like I might have learned something I can build on with my driver. I started focusing on trying to fly the driver 175 yards. Swinging easy for the short carry ended up carrying 250-260. That's really just how I could swing within myself not trying to push too hard. Result was easy control on flight and ability to work ball either direction.
As I get into real practice mode, I will return to hitting exclusively draw unless there is no other choice or for days where I am overcooking the draw.
Way to go Russell! Looks like I may not be able to play with you when you come back to the STL. Not sure if my ego can take it!
