Thought I'd share. As when I share via emails concerning different revelations on more important subject matter than golf (not dissing the game I enjoy so much, just speaking the truth), always seems someone gets a nugget they can use! Hopefully same happens here when I share.
Practice round at Saddleback GC in Firestone ,CO. 5 sets of tees from 7041 to 4855. We played (us seniors) the whites which were 5484. Seems short but wide open course for links style somewhat but lots of sand in strategic spots of course and some water and 1 island green, grass bunkers and some marsh hazards. Great place to play great views and course in awesome condition, have a headache from having to use brain so much.😆 But different from course you know so well , kind of puts things in perspective as far as game management.
Oh yeah, (think CO is turning into WY) winds have been prevalent this season. Sustained winds of 15MPH all day and definitely higher gust most of the time. Why does it seem like wind always increase as you stand over ball to hit shots! Putting was rough, greens were very well maintained but definitely got in my head somewhat.
All in all had a great time with fun group. Shot a 93, after starting out with 2 pars shot 44 on the front with 3 3 putts on the greens, UGH! Back 9 49 :( only 1 3 putt, pared both par 5's) But struggled with the wind somewhat, it definitely was gusting more and constant on the back nine . Overall ball striking was good with just a few brain lapses, and I mean when concentration wasn't 100% had miss hits.
Driving was good, 1 bad tee shot.
So nice to be having a great time and actually knowing that a 93 on a foreign course would have been acceptable in the past, not anymore but still useful. I know this was a great learning experience today even after all these years of play. Club selection dealing with wind and terrain management was educational.
Going to give it my best to translate it to better and smarter play on my home course Wednesday. Besides league play have Quarter Final Senior Match Play simultaneously. Think I am giving 1 stroke so should be good and fun match, hopefully I can get to Semifinals!
If we can move forward and learn from every outing and enjoy the game as we do it.
ITS WIN, WIN!
Blessings to you all as this place and all who contribute are for sure a blessing in my life!

Arccos, sometimes the link unit does seem to be a problem, but think it's me just getting used to app.
Anyway stats feed back is huge. My numbers are improving and just a sample of driving yesterday from feedback on a very windy day.
