Well Saguto golfers and golfettes, I've been trying hard for 9 months and I give up.. My shots are crispy now, which I enjoy. I don't top the ball or hit it fat hardly any more. For that alone, was worth it. But I still slice everything. I'm out of bounds or in the trees every hole..hit in trees punch out slice the approach lob into green two put for double bogie. Still shoot 95-100 all the time. Had 13 penalty strokes yesterday for a 115. Just cant hit it straight. I've tried every drill. Thanks but I give up

@Tom Saguto sounds good, thank you, you too!
Ok tonight if he hasn’t chimed in. Off to work now.
Did timmos really leave? I too quit many years ago for about 20 years. It was Covid that got me back in the game. I live at a golf resort with 3 courses, one being where the pros play(Valspar). The courses were shut down, but you could walk for free for a brief period. I feel his pain.
@timmos1 - I can't say it nearly as well as @danny, and he is a fellow member who speaks from direct experience and who has backtracked countless times. He is the SagutoGolf poster child for patiently embracing the process, and after nearly a year he is now starting to see and enjoy the fruits of his labor even though he continues to do battle with old swing demons.
The only things I'll double-down on are 1) the videoing and self-review of your swing, and 2) the V1 Analysis. If you haven't done the latter - or if it's been awhile - then it may just pull you off that ledge and get you back on track. I strongly suggest doing a V1 at least quarterly for maintenance and minor corrections. Many here in the school can attest to the benefits.
@timmos1 you're right on the edge of turning a corner! So here is the good news! You've developed consistency. I'm not trying to be funny. if your shots are all doing the same thing, you've probably got just one or two demons left to exorcise! Her is what made a difference for me lately, and I'm still thinning a lot of shots, Tom recently did a video about the lead wrist, so I started to work on that. I get a "feeling" as though I'm flexing the lead wrist. This is new and as far as I can tell, it has eliminated the over the top move thats been plaguing me. I was really exaggerating the feel at first but, doing that drill made me realize I had a tendency to extend the wrist in the backswing. In fact, if I'm not paying attention, I go right back to. Then, I started paying closer attention to the tailbone to target aspect. These are my swing thoughts right now. I'm seeing more pars, a birdie here and there and, far less penalty strokes.
Also, if you're not playing in tournaments, give yourself a freakin' break! For get the score card for a while! Pay attention to the positives and forget the crap shots into the woods. Buy a bunch of cheap balls, when you slice one into the woods, forget about it, think about what you did wrong, visualize it, tee p another ball and work on correcting you flaws on the next shot. Trust me, if you stripe the next one down the fairway, you'll forget all about that slice into the woods! It practice! Practice means you get a bad shot, give yourself a chance to wrack up good shots in your experience bank. I'm willing to bet you spend a lot of time not wanting to slice the ball during a round instead of focusing on executing a good shot down the middle...
I've actually taken to videoing my swing on the course when I'm playing alone! If you never play alone, and you're only playing with people, under the pressure of "competing" with them, you're putting WAY too much pressure on yourself. you've tried every drill, have you tried giving yourself a break? How often do you play? The only way to get better is to get out on the course and play more often... I sneak out for 9, 3 or 4 times a week. On the weekend, I can get out, on my own, as the first single to tee off, ahead of the pack, and be back home in 90 minutes!
Oh, and are you videoing your swing? if so, please post it here and see if we can find anything. Also, have you done any v1 analysis with Tom? You might think you're doing your drills properly, but, I bet Tom can get rid of that slice for you! If you aren't videoing regularly, you won't improve. It really is that simple... I learned that the hard way.... If you are, and you still aren't improving, you need someone to objectively look at your swing. If you don't do these things, you simply haven't tried everything.
You've developed ball flight! I always say, you can't fix ball flight until you have ball flight! you have it, now fix that!
Danny
You're hitting over the top. Go back to basics in the swing. Trail arm is not close to the body. Think about how the ball is spinning left to right because of over the top.
