Hey everybody. My band’s been on the road and I’ve been having some family medical stuff going on with the in-laws lately, so I haven’t had a chance to play. I managed to squeeze in a really good range session this morning. I was hitting some bad pulls and hooks. So I started thinking “Is my shoulder going down enough? Am I taking my club away to the inside enough? Are my arms Gorilla glued to my sides enough?” As it turns out I wasn’t. Began working on that and started flushing it with really great accuracy. I was hitting 100, 110, and 130 range pins like crazy. Even hit a couple of 170’s. Pulled the ’ol long stick out and hit the straightest drives I’ve ever hit in my life. Didn’t quite have the distance but 8 out of 10 would’ve been straight down the middle of the fairway. So when in doubt, go back to the basics.

Well done, @Buford T Ogletree!! Based on what you described it sounds like you have kept 2.8 in your back pocket and instinctively knew when your ball striking deficiencies dictated its temporarily redeployment. No frustration. Just a little trip back to the basics to tighten things up - the same as you would with your bass guitar by working through the scales after a playing hiatus. This is a tremendous forward step in your journey!!
