RABBIT
Much like skins. Players decide the amount of the kitty prior to play if money is involved.
When a player scores the best on a hole, they get the RABBIT. The player keeps the RABBIT until a different player outscored him on the next subsequent hole. Then he loses the RABBIT and the RABBIT is up for grabs until a player wins the next hole with a better score. Whoever is left holding the RABBIT after the front 9, wins the kitty. Then the kitty is replenished for the back 9. If no player is holding the RABBIT after the back 9, game resumes and kitty is still open until whoever holds the RABBIT after the 18th hole, wins it. If no one has the RABBIT, no one wins or loses the kitty. Some game mods (HA! A video gamer term. Call of Duty rules!!!...Oops, sorry. ) may be added like...no bunker play, etc. All must agree on those rules. Other than that, USGA golf rules apply. (Some players may play this game differently but this is the basics of RABBIT and it's a fun game! It's best with a 4 Some. (Tom, you can hustle your dad. 😆)
DANL’S GARBAGE GOLF (named after yours truly)
Basic Rules: ANY portion of the ball on the fairway is considered in the fairway. Fringe around the green is considered fairway ALL of the ball must be off the fairway to be considered in the rough. ANY portion of the ball on the green is deemed to be on the green When playing ‘team’ format, no team can have identical garbage (i.e. both can’t get a barky, etc) Identical garbage counts as only 1 dot No such thing as double barky/hogie/etc
GARBAGE: (one dot except as noted) (All garbage is based upon GROSS score only) Hogie – Ball must stay in fairway, on in regulation, par or better Sevie – Ball must stay in the rough, NOT on in regulation, par or better Barky – Ball hits ANY portion of a standing tree, par or better
Boggsy – Ball hits cart path, par or better Sandy – Ball in sand trap, par or better Birdie – 1 under par Nasty – Chip or Putt from fairway or rough, par or better
Dble Nasty – Ace/Eagle/Albatross (2 dots) Skin – Low score on hole Greenie – Par 3, on in regulation, closest to hole, must make par or better. If no greenie, carry bet over to next Par 3 Snake – 3putt, other team/players get a dot Titanic – hit any pond/lake, par or better (NOT casual water) Polee – on the green, outside length of flag pole, par or better
Example:
I hit the cart path, land on the fairway. hit the green, make a 15' putt for birdie.
That's a Boggsy, Hogie, Polee, Birdie AND a skin if no one else makes birdie. Playing $1 dots, that's $5 from EACH player for one hole! Adds up, folks
