Yeah, I’ve never seen it but Tom has a great setup trick with holding the club straight out ahead of you, slightly pushing your butt out and bending over until the club is the right length to the ball. If you’re digging into the ground, then it’s a contact point issue and there are plenty of lessons on proper contact point with Tom.
I always hit under the ball deep into the ground getting contact high on the face. I’ve had lessons on swinging in to out on track man. But I was never able to swing in to out. I’ll keep at it. I was thinking I maybe the only person to hit this way because there is no help on the internet about hitting this high up on iron face.
@Shane Deel - Toe hits are usually caused by an out-to-in downswing path. Have a look at this diagnostic video from Fixing Common Swing Problems, and if it seems to apply there are several drills immediately following it that are specific to "Downswing Problem #1 - Too Steep".

No. That seems like you’re trying to swing way inside tucking the club close to the body instead of swinging in a circle, back and forth.
