A subscriber messaged me and suggested I try a 3 club challenge! I have seen many on other channels, but never tried it myself
So Went to the Golf sim, picked out 3 clubs..3w,7i and 52w and gave it a go
Here is the result! https://www.facebook.com/reel/890702312099126?mibextid=0NULKw&fs=e&s=TIeQ9V
Have you tried a 3 Club challenge? What do you think of it?
It certainly made me think a little about course management, but also made me think about manipulating clubs at times to try different shots
@Tom Saguto good for the game?
I think id like to try this on a "real" Course too,
Might be fun! :)
I really need to move on to the next chapter in the school too Tom.. hahah.. still on backswing.. ;) ill send an updated swing for analysis please :)
@Bazza Clarke - Yes, a good practice exercise for the game. I've gone out with just three clubs on several occasions. It makes for a nice, easy late afternoon/early evening walk in the park without having to lug a full bag around, and it can certainly be worthwhile for the reasons cited by @burkholder.ronald. Plus, it's good for learning the capabilities/versatilities of the chosen clubs as you'll be using them on shots you wouldn't typically consider them for.
@Bazza Clarke my club held a 3-club tournament a couple years ago. I used driver, 8 iron and putter. Shot 82 and placed 1st. The week before I practiced on the range hitting the driver off the deck and 8 irons from max range of 135 yards down to 30 yard chips Using the “clock” system and choking down on the grip to vary the length of carry. It’s a good exercise in face control and swing speed control.
