Thanks for the feedback, but that isn't really getting to the question. I am curious if Tom has used that type of device. There are others out there too. Because I want to see my backswing and downswing following the same plane, I will be using it this winter along with Tom's videos. The real challenge is just getting the right plane for the stack-n-tilt motion. Once I get my video cameras setup, it will be easy to see.
Last night I went through a bunch of the videos and did several of the practice drills. Shot a 73 today that could easily have been better. Double bogeyed 17 with an absolutely monkey shot from the middle of the fairway. Anyway, no need to sell me on the idea behind stack and tilt...I am committed.
@Russell Hogue, PhD - I have not had any personal experience with the Planeswing training aid. One of the keys components of S&T is the creation of depth in our backswing, with the hands behind the trail shoulder at the top and the lead arm matching or just below the shoulder plane. There is no independent lifting action. So, if Planeswing is adjustable to accommodate and ingrain this type of deep backswing motion, then I suppose it can be supportive of the S&T motion. If on the other hand the device encourages a two-plane lifting motion, then not so much.
@Tom Saguto thanks! that’s exactly what I was thinking too. Yes, it’s completely adjustable. Once I get my cameras setup it will be much easier To get the alignment right.
I am 6’4 and based on my arm length, I believe my ideal swing plane will be right on shoulder plane. However, to get there I need to feel like I am swinging below so that I lift less. I suspect as I get more accustomed to the new plane the desire to lift will go away and I will have different problems.
i will set the plane to matchup to my shoulders or right below it. Thanks.
@Russell Hogue, PhD Sounds great! And yes, you may have to initially "feel" like you're swinging around your hips in order to overcome that ingrained lifting tendency, but ultimately you're going to love the built-in power and consistency you'll get from taking it deep and returning it on the same plane.

I don't have a $1,000.00 bucks. Watch Tom Saguto's videos and you will save money and learn a great swing method.
