I am a new member to Saguto golf (just joined today). The reason I joined is that last December, while surfing the web looking for golf tips, I found Tom Saguto's tip about connecting the trail bicep to the chest wall and bending the forearm (Hogan's Magic Elbow). It seemed so simple to me. How could this one move correct so many swing flaws? I couldn't believe it.
Fortunately, I took this one swing thought to the indoor simulator this past January as I had a Florida golf tournament scheduled with my Friends for later that month and I was desperately in need of a swing fix. I am a 17 index. I seemed to work! I started hitting a draw!! Well, I thought that it is one thing to work in a simulator, but an entirely different thing to work on the golf course.
I took this ONE SWING THOUGHT to a four day tournament at Doral with 25 guys that I have been playing with for years. By the end of four days, I was hoisting the winner's trophy!
Since returning to Michigan, our course has been open for two weeks. I have played four rounds all in the eighties using ONLY this tip. I am sold!! Joining the Saguto Golf Family was the only way to appropriately say THANK YOU to Tom Saguto. You have brought JOY back to the game of golf for me!!!
@jmfoxmd,
I am absolutely floored by how many folks across the globe have benefitted dramatically from the "Magic Elbow" lesson!! I mean, I knew it was a pretty good one, but I honestly had no idea how many minds would be blown by it!
Congratulations on your great successes!! I am thrilled for the enjoyment you are now experiencing, because that is really what this is all about!! One tip does not make a golfer, and you obviously had a lot of good things already happening in your swing. It seems to me that this trail elbow action may have just been that one missing link, and I commend you on your work to incorporate it and ultimately take ownership of it!
I truly appreciate your very kind words and your support of my instruction business through this gesture! I know that you don't want to mess with a good thing relative to your full swing, but while here in the school I hope you'll take advantage of some of the other available resources such as the various short game courses and the soon-to-be-released Shot Shaping Grid content!
Thank you again for your post, and have FUN out there!!
Tom
