So, was playing with a good friend, his wife and 7 year old son. The son walks up and says, "is that your ball mark?" I said "yea" he says, "you better fix that!" LMAO
Sorry about that friend! That shot launched so nice. The green was up probably 20 to 25 feet, I could see maybe the top 1/4 of the pin. It launched, and dropped right on line with the stick but I couldn't see it land. I said, "wow, that could be in!" (yea right!) We started driving up the hill, stopped, I grabbed my putter to head over and the guy driving was still sitting. I said it again, "I think I'm in!" He got out and hurried right over to the hole, he stole my moment!
Hi Tom! Thank you! Yes first Ace and never even really thought I'd ever get one!
The rest of my game was not great. My old swing would not leave me alone... After driving 4 out of 5 240 to 250 in the fairway and one small slice 215 just off the fairway on Friday, Saturday, I started with a decent 230 in the fairway, Sunday started the same but, then, nothing but high horrible slices into another zip code... Not a lot of crispy KFC but still, playing 100 or less. It's funny how some days the swing is there and then you can't find it again for a while...
Anyway, I Guess I better get my wallet out! That ace was exhilarating! I was literally shaking! I went to the next tee box with that same ball in my hand and one of the foursome said, "you're not going to hit that are you?" LOL
I did follow it with a Bogie after one of those High, Horrible slices though!
@danny - It's all in the process of coming together. I mean, think about it - 4 out of 5 drives on Friday were 240 - 250 on the short grass, and last year you couldn't hit it 200 and keep it in the same zip code!
Keep going back to "Fearless Golf". You've already built the swing of a consistent 80's shooter; your brain just hasn't been convinced of that yet!
I'm glad you got your ace while playing in a foursome!!
@Tom Saguto I've been a bit perplexed. I kow I have a swing that can be very effective, but, I just can't seem to bring it over and over.
I'll start back on the fearless golf book today. I kind of fell away from it as I felt it was beyond my ability. Kind of like jumping ahead the school I suppose. BTW, I'm still not past the 2.8 drill! LOL 240 to 250 and stuck at 2.8?!
Congrats!
Yea, me! I torture the kid constantly! "you gotta fix your divot! seriously, go get it and put it back!" I think that was payback!
@danny - Love it....as well as the ball mark location!!!
do I look happy?
Woohoo!! Nice!! But, darn it, you beat me to it. lol I do prefer Hard Ciders when that round of drinks comes around.

CONGRATULATIONS, @danny!!! That is awesome!! Is it your first ace??
(Unfortunately, you now owe everyone in the SG community a beverage...🤣)
Well done!!!
Way to go, Danny. Great distance with a 9 iron. Hopefully, many more to come.
