Greetings All!
Hope all had enjoyable holiday weekend! We are blessed to live in the greatest country in the world despite what some may say and think. (one only needs to go abroad to some less "free" nations to see this,I have). Okay holiday rant done!
@Tom Saguto like the simple move golf tip today. Can't hear it enough. There are certain things we must practice routinely (at least for me) to ingrain and keep muscle memory. (2:8 drill is part of my regular warm up)
I have experimented with different takeaways and this is now doubt the one. Even with my unique problem of my arm popping up on the downswing(shoulder caused), I realised I HAVE to have that takeaway low and behind to get consistent contact. If I don't, will pop up and end up with Atlanta Tomahawk Chop (don't care that might be unwoke!).
So just sharing that for some of us and maybe all have unique things in our swings to deal with.
What really hit home in this tip shared today was Hogan's backswing. Really need to remember that image of his 3/4 takeback. I notice in home range and on course those are the most consistent and KFC shots. And really don't lose distance if any. And on top of that doesn't do any good to get more distance with a bigger takeaway and less KFC hits and spray ball all over the place.
Noticed that big time on home range yesterday! (Note to self: anything under 7 iron not good for indoor range!DUH).
So going out this morning to tuneup course! Going to really focus on takeaway and not overswinging.
Will keep you informed, hope everyone is staying on their path and having fun!
Blessings
You don't need a big backswing to hit the ball a long way, @Steven. In addition to Mr. Hogan, consider modern-day bombers like Rahm, Finau, and Varner.
