Good Morning all!
Just wanted to give some encouragement to our new members starting their journey and others who are where I am at. @henry who also deals with flexibility issues and others that have given me encouragement and comments and @Tom Saguto all are a big part of my journey and improvements. I realise this is possible because of this academy and forum format.
Now yesterday shot an 88. And just last year would have been satisfied with that. Don't get me wrong am having fun and enjoying the play! But that 88 felt like a 100 +! I had 4 doubles on the day and two 3 putts one of which contributed to a double. And those holes I will call my Rod Serling holes, as I seemed to slip into the "Twilight Zone"! It's like all of a sudden I lost it! I know this is a mental and concentration and focus issue, nevertheless still occurred. The fact the you take away the 4 doubles and 1 other 3 putt and there is 5 strokes found for an 83.
Downside - Upside
Chipping was outstanding for the most part except for a 2 twilight zone brain cramps. When you focus and go with what your plan is on the stroke I was on target and even put one 1 foot from hole for tap in from 24 yds. away from left side of green in a dip where I had limited green and could barely see top of flag. Decide what you are aiming for and decide on swing and just do it.
Took 35 putts on the day. But a 20 and 15 respectively, have to start sinking more closer range putts, period.
Upside adjustment made. Moved ball placement back. As we start at a club head inside the left ankle, I moved it back 1 more club head inside ankle, so basically 2 club heads inside left ankle. Way better when focused and now just have to adjust and get handle on adjustment directional wise.
As I review Arccos data weekly my club selection has gotten better and got my ego out of the way. And driving accuracy continues to improve as now running average has moved to 52% middle after this week from 42%.
Arccos note: I got the link to wear on your belt. But if you play a course that does not have a strong GPS signal it will disconnect a lot. Since I don't have a huge sized cell I just put in my front left pocket and pretty much was good whole round.
Nice to be playing better and even nicer to feel like 88 was a 98+ last season. This is how I know improvement is happening! Plenty of season left to make strides and improve for final 36 hole tourney in September. Think I giving myself a good chance to get 3rd career finals win!
Thanks to Tom, Saguto Academy & ALL my fellow alumni!
Thanks for sharing the encouragement @Steven. Keep up the awesome golf game. Have a blast! Golf! Gotta love it!
