Hi all, it's me again. I've been working hard at home, and even at the range a bit this week, and I feel like I'm close to having my "starter" swing ready.. as in, maybe not the maximum power development, but a good start to build on.. I'd like your opinion.
The good: I'm finally starting to keep my left knee from buckling away from the target, and my hands are staying forward(you'll notice I have an alignment stick stuck in my club for immediate feedback should that get out of line) I'm also quite fond of my setup from both angles; you can't see my feet fully but they are turned out ~20 degrees, I promise :)
The bad: Now that my left leg isn't buckling in, my head is dropping a little.. OK? Should I be worried? Also as you can see at impact, I'm turning forward much earlier(to avoid flipping and getting smacked in the ribs by the alignment stick). Not sure what you guys think about that?
And please give any and ALL critiques you see. Playing 9 holes in my league tomorrow and I'm excited to get out and try it!
@Julian - You seem to be making excellent progress! With regard to your head dropping a little, this is usually a result of some measure of deficiency in the extension component. @Rudi (from Munich) touches on this in his reply and offers a very good reference video. There's also this lesson from the school specific to extension.
I hope you had an enjoyable round in your league last week. Keep up the great work!!
