I played Saturday and hit very few crispy shots if any. I Played 18 on a par 63 and will still record for handicap purposes. I did have a few shots that were okay but not what I had expected. Very disappointed in my play. Today I stuck my lob wedge in my hand and hit over 100 balls 2.8 style but, I only took the club to 9:00. It was hit and miss, and nothing really consistent. I did hit the majority straight though, so I was happy about that. There was a barrel about 70 yards out that I was trying to hit. Hit it several times. Not in the air but they rolled to it. My most critical observation is that I think my divots are huge, but they are after the ball and I take one almost every time. could be coming in too steep. Next time I will do the drill from the top of my swing. Tried some at 8:00 but not much turning with that one. More of a chip. Again hit and miss.
There is something amiss. I can't for the life of me figure out how sometimes I can hit the ball exactly as needed with that crispy feeling with distance and hang time and accuracy, and the next time I am Forest, Forest Gump. I have found myself slightly moving backward on that backswing. it's just a hair but I caught myself doing it. Not every time but I do it. I also think that I may not be extending since I know a am turning the shoulder down. Could be possible I am hunching or leaning forward? I also think that when I put the weight on the lead leg I am leaning up and left as opposed to leaning parallel to the left.
We are getting some rain this week so I may have to wait until the weekend to go again and that may be a good thing.
This is more of a self rant and I don't really mean to hog up the board.
I love playing this game and since I already know for a fact that I can smack them correctly I will not stop till every last ball has been smacked. Correctly
Can you post a video? Maybe have your wife video your swing. Try to get a video face on with the camera held at the height of your hands directly perpendicular to your target line. Set the camera far enough away so that we can see the ball and about a foot of space above your head.
Also take a video down the line again with the camera at your hand height and lined up with your hands so it is looking down a line parallel to the target line through your hands.
Theses two videos will give us all a chance to see your swing and give you some feed back.
