So, I watched your latest video about shortening the swing up with straight arms, and with everything in my golf game, I tend to over exaggerate EVERYTHING! I took your idea to the range, and to be honest all my shots were pretty decent, but the only issue I had was I was hitting these nice long fades. That isn’t such a bad thing, but I’m a drawer of the golf ball and want to continue to be. When I try to keep my arms straight throughout the entire swing I feel like my arms are sorta locked, and I’m wondering if I‘m slightly coming across the golf ball because my arms are locked with my pits out. When you keep your arms straight, you still want your arms to be very loose, correct? I just feel like I’m over doing the whole arms straight pits out idea.

@Jeremy Santefort - It's quite common to have some tension build in when we first start working on keeping the arms straight. It's definitely a new and different feeling for most, but it is important. Also, know that the trail arm must still fold to 90 degrees in the backswing, just as the lead arm should fold in the finish; the goal of "straight arms" is to prevent this from happening prematurely.
Rather than using the word "loose" - which to me holds connotations of opening up the possibility for loss of connection and breakdown - I personally prefer the feeling that the forearms are "soft" and the wrists are "oily". This allows them to be responsive to the swing motion while being "straight" and keeping the crucial connectivity elements intact.
