Those of you who been with me on my journey or not this year, I have definitely made strides!
So much so with 2 weeks left in the league and the 36 hole weekend final to follow, got pushed from top of 2nd flight to bottom of 1st flight! So last 2 weeks and in finals will be playing from back tees instead of the middles tees!
Any casual passer bys, if you think @Tom Saguto course, videos & academy are not the real deal, think again! You are either not committed or putting in the time.
I am living proof and a testimony for it and this all taking place from a soon to be 65 golfer in Oct. and plate and 11 screws in my right shoulder.
All that being said: being pushed to back tees decided had to gain some yards. Didn't think this would come into play at this point in my golfing journey. So upgraded to Callaway Rogue Max ST and with a bit more backswing and acceleration picked up minimum of 10 yds in the simulator compared to my old Taylormade M4D (which I brought with me). Investment like new driver checking all boxes and possibilities.
Next step and Tom & those of you who follow my post know I'm a foundation builder moving slowly forward(seems to have worked). Checking out the Power section in the online school. And besides some of the nuggets from Tom about Bowflex power(I can feel the move just by the twinge in my shoulder, might be my advantage there), the fact that the basic swing is the ROCK SOLID FOUNDATION it came naturally. What I mean was when I was in the simulator was swinging the way I been swinging all year basically 3/4 and playing well. Although lately off tee hitting with a little more distance but that came from a little more acceleration. So I said in the sim swinging 3 different drivers, time to take it back a little more and accelerate through and just like that 10 to 15 yds added!(thing is it was with the 2 Callaways that I did go 10 to 15 and a few 20 yds further the my current driver only about 5 yds).
So like I said been checking out Power section 1st 3 sections. And there it is!!! Our Fearless Leader explaining that we have the components now time to crank them up! What an awesome surprise to find out what I did in the sim was right inline with the "next level"! At 65 I did not think I would be adding yds!
So will be playing tomorrow league and again on local course on Thursday. Next Wednesday is final league day. I will be playing home course Tuesday, Wednesday(league) and Thursday and the off Friday just hitting the indoor range. And then Saturday and Sunday finals.
Thanks again @Tom Saguto.
I have enjoyed this year and this journey and now I think I can truly put on the game face these last few weeks and enjoy no matter what!!!!!!!!
@Steven - Hi Steven. Before choosing the Callaway Rogue, how many Drivers did you try out in the Golf Shop and what Brands? I am still going to the Golf Shop but having car issues right now.
@Steven - You are an inspiration where older gentleman just keep digging in for results. Thanks for sharing, Steven. I might need a new Driver too, but $3-400.00 clams is very painful. May go used on Ebay. But, then again, my Adams Redline Driver crushes it 270 yards.
Outstanding @Steven . Just love a story with a happy ending! You keep hitting them drivers crispy and long! Golf is really so much more fun when things are going well! I’m motivated even more hearing your awesome story!
ladies & Gentlemen, I introduce to you.... SLAMMIN' STEVEN!! 💪💪
Have fun out there tomorrow deploying those power accumulators with your new Callaway!!
