I've been playing golf for about 30 years. Got down to a 5 hcp in the 1990s. Quit playing alot after my father died. Quit for almost 10 years. I picked it back up after my sons got older and wanted to play. So I ran across some of Toms teachings on utube. I told myself hell I'll give it a try. To my surprise I started knocking the crap out of the ball. Then reality hit.. Went to the golf course and couldn't hit the ball to save my life.. Every now and then I would catch one. Told my son what the hell is going on. If I can do it one time why cant I keep doing it. Went home started thinking something im not doing consentily. I started from the beginning of Tom's teaching." Went to Get out" and play. Started watching, saw all the stuff I was doing right. 90% weight on front foot. Turn shoulders . Take club to inside. Feet out like a duck. I was doing all the right things. But was inconsistent hitting the ball. Now here's the big one I missed. Drill #6Training the down swing. Dropping the arms down to the slot. OMG it made a world of difference. I started smoking the ball one after another. A few miss hits in between but I new what to look for and know now what to pratice. I found out to, to keep the weight foward like Tom says it makes it easier to get you left hand and right hand to your knee. In my opinion this is a key movement in the golf swing and should be specified more by teachers of the golf swing. A lot of golf swings are doomed because of not knowing this move. Over the top golf swings would be eliminated if dropping the arms was taught more. Just my 2 cents. Richard
