I stopped at the end of chapter 2 and don’t plan on going forward till I get the drills down pact. When I swing I feel like mr bean trying to swing. I guess this is what Tom meant when he said if it feels weird you’re doing it right well I think that’s what he said. It truly feels odd. I refuse to try my old swing in fear I would stick with that.

That's a good place to hang out for a while, Brandon.
It is so important to embrace the swing change process and set realistic expectations along the way, otherwise frustration is certain to occur. The “ghosts of swings past” do not disappear on their own, and if you are transitioning from a swing method that involved shifting weight into your trail side and/or lifting the club with your hands, those demons are going to take some time to exorcise! Be patient, work through the lessons sequentially and without getting ahead of yourself, and know that it’s going to take time for your swing to perform consistently and hold up under the pressure of actual play.
As I've often stated here, one of the many great things about this swing is that you can achieve solid ball striking even at the most basic levels. This is why I readily suggest that members do precisely what you are - park themselves on Chapter 2 for an extended period of time after - and this is critical - locking down Chapter 1's foundational elements. Work yourself sequentially and gradually through the chapter, and then commit yourself to that drill in Lesson 2.8. Learn it. Practice it. Master it. You can even use this partially abbreviated swing on the course and play quite well with it as it will provide plenty of distance! (It actually is the full swing minus just a couple of power accumulators.) Once you've got that down, you will be well prepared to move forward in the curriculum and well on your way towards taking ownership of YOUR swing!
Weird is Good. Stick with the process...
