Since I usually keep you all up (no not a southerner) to date here hoping that sharing with you gives insight and helps others I know it's therapeutic for me!
I am not going to even share score because the number hurts!😬 But 1 into triple digits.
That being said, brutal day conditions wise(no excuses) just fact. Bumped into head grounds keeper and he is a bit frustrated also. As back 9 greens recovered nicely but fairway didn't. Reverse true on back 9 and both nines receiving same care, perplexing.
I did stick with adding the transition with the swing (shallowing it & added the slower and top trigger downswing). Truthfully concentration waned after about the 6 hole. This is a links style course and it is breezy most days. But yesterday beat the 2019 Ocean City, MD wind I played in. Which meant from hole 6 till the end of the day if was flag stick bending wind, not just straight out actual stick pole bent constantly! I tell how taxing it was, for those that have Arccos sensors know that it works off sound and I have the link that clips to my belt so don't have to have phone in pocket. Well with the winds sustained at 15 to 20 MPH according to the Arccos app(not buying that ). The link missed about 80% of hits, it was that hard of wind whipping. Tough time of year to try and tame the Coyote.
But stuck to to trying to implement new swing components and all in all said if going to have a day like this, glad it's second round out and in tough conditions. Some members sored well, but that was the bulk that had the earlier tee times. We teed off at 10am and if was a quite strong breeze that picked up 3 holes in and was brutal from 6 to 18. Whoa! On top of the wind, added a couple of pull overs to the wardrobe as the temp in the wind dropped to that cool feeling when the clouds are blowing in.
When rounds like this happen, you just go from shot to shot and forget about the score(at least for me). I just deleted it from Arccos, mainly because I got tired of trying to reconstruct round in the edit screen on the desktop. Stats would not be accurate anyway. So didn't want to skew data early in the year.
Takeaway:
Realized most of bad hits that did happen were mostly due to lack of concentration and focus.
Did get more familiar with new 58 degree wedge and very dialed in with 54, but that bigger bounce sole does make the ball fly a bit different, But checks up nicely.
Leave it behind me, take away the good points and learn from bad.
Full disclosure!
I feel your pain having played my first round yesterday with my Lions Club league. Played a three man scramble. My chips and putting were by far the best aspects of my play,
With the driver and irons, however, looked like I had never picked up a club in my life. Horrible drives, horrible approach shots. My nerves got the better of me and I just could not implement one single swing thought well.
I think I found something afterward that is going to slow me down and make sure my hips lead the club. I won't share it here until it works for 7 days straight.
