Anyone else ever notice other players who make nice, even tempo, smooth practice swings...the club gets in great position at the top, etc, then all of a sudden their real swing looks tight, jerky, and the club dips down behind them?
It's weird...like they don't trust their practice swings. If not, why bother? LOL. Just curious what others think.
its that little white devil
Yea the practice swing is all about dialing in the feel for what I want to happen during the swing. I like that Tom calls it a rehearsal swing. I try to take that swing and dial in what I want for a result. "What's my target?" and visualize the shot going where I want it to go. I have much better consistency that way.
Although, I'm still on the disabled list... I've been practicing chipping and putting a bit using the same idea of a rehearsal, visualize, shoot. I'm getting much closer to the hole from 10 to 20 yards and actually hole a chip every now and then!

I'm with ya @GolfLivesMatter i just to a couple checkpoints same as you but when I'm halfway back i do a little hip bump towards the target just to get the feel
There's no "hit instinct" in the rehearsal move because there's nothing to hit at, but drop a ball down there and let the train wreck begin! That was one of the reasons behind the previous week's YT episode with the white ball and the yellow ball.
